READING, PA. August 30, 1912 - The United League's top batter in 1912 was Wash Teal of the Reading Reds, who snagged the title with a .356 average. The 33-year-old center fielder recorded 160 hits in 449 at-bats, 7 home runs and 77 RBIs in his league-leading season.
